Vanochtend deden we een lesje bokehbollen fotograf

Vanochtend deden we een lesje bokehbollen fotograferen tijdens de workshop “meervoudige belichting” in macrofotografie.
Het was zo’n grappig gezicht dat ik er wel even een filmpje van moest maken!

We hadden een flink volle groep maar iedereen deed het fantastisch waardoor het heel soepel verliep. Dankjulliewel allemaal voor het komen en voor jullie enthousiasme.

A single and a double exposure of the same subject, both in cool color tones. I enjoy looking at both images and don’t really have a preference. What I do love, though, is exploring creative ways of photographing. Tomorrow and Tuesday, I’ll be teaching the multiple exposure workshop again for @natuurfotografie.nl , and I’m really looking forward to it!

Een enkele en een dubbele belichting van hetzelfde onderwerp. Beide in koele kleurtinten. Ik vind ze beide fijn kijken en ik heb dan ook geen voorkeur. Wel vind ik het heerlijk om bezig te zijn met een lekker creatieve manier van fotograferen. Morgen en dinsdag mag ik weer de workshop meervoudige belichting geven voor @natuurfotografie.nl en daar heb ik heel veel zin in!

This image is also a double exposure, although the effect is a little more subtle. That’s exactly what I love about it.
This plant grows clusters of tiny pink flowers. I first photographed the heart of the flower and then layered a second exposure of a single flower over it. By aligning it with the same center point, it almost looks as if it was always meant to be one image.
It may be a bit of a puzzle to explain, but I thoroughly enjoyed creating it. Playing with shapes, lines, and layers is what makes multiple exposure photography so much fun and full of surprises.

Ook dit beeld is een dubbele belichting, al is het resultaat wat subtieler. Juist dat vind ik er zo mooi aan.
Aan deze plant groeien trosjes met kleine roze bloemetjes. Eerst fotografeerde ik het hart van de bloem, waarna ik daar een tweede opname van een losse bloem overheen legde. Precies vanuit diezelfde kern, waardoor het bijna lijkt alsof het één beeld is en alles precies zo hoort.
Een beetje een puzzel om uit te leggen misschien, maar ik heb me hier heerlijk mee vermaakt. Juist het spelen met vormen, lijnen en lagen maakt meervoudige belichting zo leuk en verrassend.

Aanstaande vrijdag (en volgende week maandag) star

Aanstaande vrijdag (en volgende week maandag) start de volgeboekte workshop meervoudige belichting in het Maximapark in Utrecht voor @natuurfotografie.nl , ik ben benieuwd wie ik daar allemaal zal zien!
De afgelopen weken ben ik al een paar keer in het park geweest en daar schoot ik deze foto als mooi voorbeeld voor deze workshop. Dit prachtige minuscule plantje loop je makkelijk voorbij, maar is een goed onderwerp voor meervoudige belichting. Ik heb er ontzettend veel zin in!!

This Friday (and next Monday), the fully booked multiple exposure workshop in the Maximapark in Utrecht for @natuurfotografie.nl kicks off! I'm curious to see who I'll be meeting there.
Over the past few weeks, I've visited the park several times, and this is one of the photos I took as a great example for the workshop. It's such a beautiful tiny plant, easy to walk past without noticing, but a perfect subject for multiple exposure photography.
I’m really looking forward to it!!

I often tend to make sure there’s a colorful backg

I often tend to make sure there’s a colorful background in my photos. But sometimes it’s actually beautiful not to do that for a change.
In this photo, I deliberately included a part of the sky. When you aim at a bright section of the sky, but not directly into the sun, the sky turns almost completely white. And that creates a totally different atmosphere in your photo.
During the workshop on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 3, we’ll mainly focus on choosing your composition. And that’s not just about the subject itself; the foreground and background are just as important for the overall feel of an image.

Ik heb vaak de neiging om te zorgen voor een gekleurde achtergrond in mijn foto’s. Maar soms is het juist mooi om dat eens níét te doen.
Bij deze foto heb ik bewust een stukje lucht meegenomen. Richt je daarbij op een licht deel van de lucht, maar niet recht tegen de zon in, dan kleurt die bijna wit. Dat geeft meteen een heel andere sfeer aan je beeld.
Tijdens de workshop van dinsdag en woensdag 3 juni gaan we vooral aan de slag met het kiezen van je compositie. Daarbij draait het niet alleen om je onderwerp; ook de voor- en achtergrond zijn minstens zo belangrijk voor de uitstraling van een foto.
