De herfst is misschien wel het mooiste seizoen om te fotograferen… en dit wil je niet missen!

Stel je voor: een ochtend in het magische Speulderbos, waar de mist tussen de bomen hangt, paddenstoelen in de mooiste kleuren tevoorschijn komen en ieder blad een kunstwerk lijkt. Tijdens deze inspirerende workshop macrofotografie leer je hoe je juist die kleine details omzet in indrukwekkende foto's.

Tijdens de workshop neem ik je stap voor stap mee in mijn manier van kijken. Je ontdekt hoe je met licht, compositie en een verrassend perspectief beelden maakt die de sfeer van de herfst echt laten spreken. Daarnaast gaan we aan de slag met meervoudige belichting. Een creatieve techniek waarmee je dromerige, artistieke foto's maakt die gegarandeerd opvallen.

Of je nu voor het eerst macrofotografie probeert of al veel ervaring hebt, ik geef je praktische tips die je direct kunt toepassen. Je gaat niet alleen naar huis met nieuwe kennis en inspiratie, maar vooral met beelden waar je met trots op terugkijkt.
Gun jezelf een ontspannen en creatieve ochtend in één van de mooiste bossen van Nederland. Ervaar hoe bijzonder het is om de herfst door een macrolens te bekijken en laat je verrassen door alles wat je onderweg ontdekt.

And here's the last photo of this adorable little butterfly. With its wings spread open, it becomes even more delicate and charming, don't you think? The soft light shining gently through its wings makes it absolutely perfect. I have to admit, I'm a little bit in love with this tiny white butterfly, so beautiful, so pure, and so innocent.

En dan de laatste foto van dit schattige vlindertje. Met de vleugeltjes open worden ze nog lieflijker of niet... Het licht wat er zachtjes doorheen schijnt maakt het helemaal af. Ik ben gewoon een beetje verliefd op een klein wit vlindertje zo mooi en zo onschuldig.

A butterfly in flight is always magical. And that tiny curled proboscis makes it even more special.
I just love the bokeh in this image. There was already some beautiful natural bokeh, but by adding a second exposure I introduced a little more softness and a touch of green. Green isn't something I usually add, but in this case it felt just right. It really enhances the summery atmosphere.
Anyway... enough of my rambling. I'm simply happy with this photo.

Een vlinder in de vlucht is altijd magisch. Het roltongetje maakt de vlinder extra bijzonder. De bokeh is heerlijk. Er was al mooie bokeh in de foto, maar door een dubbele belichting is er een beetje bokeh en de groene kleur toegevoegd. En groen toevoegen is niet iets wat ik snel doe! Maar hier past het heel mooi vind ik, het versterkt het zomerse gevoel.
Het is weer een hoop blablabla.... ik ben gewoon blij met de foto.

This little small white butterfly kept fluttering

This little small white butterfly kept fluttering around me while I was photographing the beautiful demoiselles. I simply couldn't resist taking a few shots of this little beauty as well.
I used a multiple exposure for this image too, with the stream creating wonderfully soft bokeh and those lovely glowing circles in the background. I just love that effect! The late afternoon sunlight was shining through both the flowers and the butterfly, beautifully revealing the delicate structure of its wings.

Dit koolwitje fladderde zo heerlijk om mij heen terwijl ik de bosbeekjuffers aan het fotograferen was. Dus ja, ik moest dit mooie diertje natuurlijk wel eventjes mooi op de kiek zetten.
Ook bij deze foto heb ik dubbele belichting toegepast, waarbij het beekje voor zijdezachte bokeh inclusief bolletjes zorgde. Heerlijk! Het late middagzonnetje scheen door de bloemen en de vlinder heen, waardoor de structuur van de vleugels prachtig zichtbaar wordt.

A beautiful demoiselle perched on lookout along the edge of a small forest stream. This was the only photo I managed to take from inside the stream, which gave me a beautifully bright background right away. The texture in the background is created by the natural color contrasts in the surrounding vegetation.
I just love how it turned out. And unlike the other images in this series, this is a single exposure.

De prachtige bosbeekjuffer zit op wacht aan de rand van een beekje. Dit is de enige foto die ik vanuit de beek kon schieten, waardoor de achtergrond meteen al heerlijk licht was. De structuur in de achtergrond wordt veroorzaakt door de kleurcontrasten in de begroeiing. Zo heerlijk toch... dit is dus een enkele belichting, in tegenstelling tot de andere foto’s.

Aren't beautiful demoiselles simply magical? The brown ones are the females, while the shimmering blue ones are the males. Both are incredibly active along the stream, perching as lookouts before taking off and, more often than not, returning to exactly the same spot. It's fascinating to watch, and it all happens in the blink of an eye.
I actually liked the motion blur in the background, it adds a wonderful sense of movement to the image. To brighten the otherwise dark background, I blended in a bokeh photo that I had taken at the same location.
This final image is a combination of four photographs. I didn't plan this multiple exposure while I was shooting, but next time I'll definitely try to create it in-camera. Until then, I'm more than happy with what can be achieved in post-processing. The second photo shows a female beautiful demoiselle laying an egg in a stinging nettle.

Wat zijn ze toch magisch he die bosbeekjuffers, de bruine juffers zijn de vrouwtjes, de blauwe de mannetjes. Ze zijn beide erg druk aan het doen aan de waterkant. Ze zitten op de uitkijk en zo nu en dan vliegen ze op om meestal razendsnel weer terug te keren naar hetzelfde plekje. Het is een prachtig gezicht en het gaat razendsnel. Het vervagen in de achtergrond gaf juist een gaaf beeld vond ik. Om de zwarte achtergrond lichter te maken zette ik er een terplekke geschoten bokehfoto overheen. Dit zijn vier foto's over elkaar heen. Alleen bij deze heb ik er ter plekke niet over nagedacht, dat ga ik de volgende keer in camera proberen. Maar in de nabewerking lukt het minstens zo goed. Op de tweede foto zie je hoe het vrouwtje een eitje legt in de brandnetel.
