This is my second favorite photo. I already posted my absolute favorite two days ago. This one is similar, but clearly has a different composition. It is also a double exposure. I really like the depth in this photo and the lovely softness in the foreground. I know that many landscape photographers aim for as much sharpness as possible, but I actually enjoy adding a touch of mystery by using a telephoto lens and a low aperture. This photo simply gives me a pleasant feeling, and that’s why it’s one of my favorites. That’s the most important reason, isn’t it?

Dit is mijn twee na favoriete foto. De absolute favoriet postte ik 2 dagen geleden al. Deze lijkt er wel op, maar heeft een duidelijk andere compositie. Het is ook een dubbele belichting. Ik vind de diepte in deze foto heel fijn en de heerlijke zachtheid in de voorgrond. Ik weet dat veel landschapsfotografen juist gaan voor zoveel mogelijk scherpte, maar ik vind het juist fijn om een stukje mystiek toe te voegen, door de telelens en een laag diafragma te gebruiken. Deze foto geeft mij gewoon een fijn gevoel en daar is het een van mijn favorieten. Dat is toch de allerbelangrijkste reden, of niet dan?

Light is everything in photography; it’s what makes a boring picture interesting. It’s so wonderful how clearly you can see here that the little purple flowers cover the entire forest floor. The rising sun creates winding paths through the forest and illuminates the tree trunk covered in ivy. That makes me feel a lot happier than all the photos I’ve taken with flat, even lighting. I can really drift away here and dream…

Licht is alles in fotografie, dat maakt een saai plaatje interessant. Zo heerlijk hoe goed je hier ziet dat de paarse bloemetjes de hele bosbodem bedekken. De opkomende zon maakt slingerpaadjes door het bos en verlicht de boomstam met klimop. Ik word daar toch een stuk vrolijker van dan alle foto's die ik met egaal licht heb geschoten. Ik hier heerlijk bij wegdromen...

Alright, time for the reveal. Quite a few of you guessed it right. My absolute favorite photo from last weekend is number 5!
The moment I saw this double exposure appear on my screen, I just knew… this is the one. Nothing I shoot today is going to top this. This is me…

I was already happy with the base image, a strong foundation is everything. Then I decided to add some bokeh circles over it, and that’s when pure magic happened. I love it!

And yes, there are more images I’m really happy with, but this one is the one… I can’t quite explain it, it’s just a feeling that hits you.

Oke, tijd voor de uitslag. Een aantal van jullie hadden het goed geraden. Mijn lieve lieve lievelingsfoto van afgelopen weekend is nummer 5! Toen ik deze dubbele belichting op mijn beeld zag verschijnen wist ik, dit is hem…. Deze ga ik vandaag niet meer toppen. Dit ben ik… Ik was al blij met de basisfoto. Een goede basis moet er altijd zijn. Toen besloot ik er wat bokehbollen overheen te fotograferen en toen ontstond pure magie. Heerlijk! En ja er zijn meer beelden waar ik heel blij mee ben, maar deze is hét gewoon… ik kan het niet omschrijven het is een gevoel wat je overkomt. Allemaal heel eeg bedankt voor het reageren onder mijn filmpje, het was erg leuk om te lezen.

Last weekend I only spent a very short time on mac

Last weekend I only spent a very short time on macro photography, and that’s why I ended up with just one good macro photo, and this is it. Why?

- many of the flowers were already a bit past their best, so it took some searching to find a fresh little patch
- many flowers were too far from the path, and you’re really not allowed to leave the path and of course, you don’t do that
- I can also take a macro photo here in the forest of a small cluster of bluebells. I don’t necessarily have to be in Halle for that. The forest there is so beautiful because the entire forest floor is covered with them.
-Therefore my focus was more on landscape photography and on hoping to spot a roe deer. I only saw one near the parking area
Anyway, here it is… haha

Ik heb afgelopen weekend maar heel kort de tijd genomen voor macrofotografie en daarom heb ik ook maar 1 goede macrofoto gemaakt en dat is deze. Waarom?

- veel bloemen liepen al een beetje op het einde waardoor het zoeken was naar een fris plukje bloemen
- veel bloemen stonden te ver van het pad en je mag écht niet van het pad af en dat doe je dus ook niet
- een macrofoto kan ik ook maken hier in het bos van een klein plukje boshyacintjes. Daarvoor hoef ik niet perse in Halle te zijn. Het bos is daar juist zo mooi omdat de hele bosbodem ermee bedekt is.
- mijn focus lag daarom dus meer op landschappelijke foto en de hoop op een ree. Die laatste heb ik alleen gezien nabij de parkeerplaats.

Maar goed, dit is hem dus.... haha

OMG, afgelopen weekend was ik in het Hallerbos in

OMG, afgelopen weekend was ik in het Hallerbos in België. Ik dacht echt dat het helemaal niets ging worden met de foto's, want ik kon het allemaal niet vinden.
Althans... totdat ineens het licht aanging. Toen gebeurde er iets waanzinnigs in het bos. Het veranderde in een keer in een waar sprookje. Ik heb daar zo enorm staan te genieten. Ik had nog uren door kunnen gaan, maar ja ik had een ontbijtafspraak met mijn man.

Ik ben heel benieuwd wat jullie favoriet is en of jullie mijn favoriet kunnen vinden in deze sfeerimpressie van dit prachtige bos.
Laat het mij weten, dat vind ik leuk!

Nog even in het engels...
OMG, last weekend I was in the Hallerbos in Belgium. I really thought the photos were going to turn out to be nothing, because I just couldn’t find the right compositions and tension.
At least… until suddenly the light came on. Then something incredible happened in the forest. It instantly turned into a real fairytale. I enjoyed myself there so much. I could have kept going for hours, but well, I had a breakfast date with my husband.
I’m very curious to know which one is your favorite and whether you can find my favorite in this atmospheric impression of this beautiful forest.

Hallerbos is perhaps the most photographed forest

Hallerbos is perhaps the most photographed forest at this time of year. During the day on weekends, it’s best to stay away, it gets incredibly crowded. But early last Sunday morning, I was almost alone there.
I struggled with photographing at first because everything felt so flat. But then suddenly… the light switched on, quite literally. The sun started to play with the forest and it started living. And all at once, I began to see compositions everywhere.
I’m starting this series with the darkest photo, somewhat atypical for me. But sometimes you need a bit of darkness in order to see the light.

Het Hallerbos is in deze tijd van het jaar misschien wel het meest gefotografeerde bos. Overdag in het weekend dan kun je er beter wegblijven, dan is het zo druk. Maar afgelopen zondagochtend vroeg liep ik er bijna alleen.
Ik had moeite met het fotograferen omdat alles zo vlak was. Maar toen ineens…. ging het licht aan, letterlijk. De zon speelde met het bos en bracht het tot leven. En ineens zag ik overal composities. Ik start deze serie met de donkerste foto, een beetje a-typisch voor mij. Maar er is soms wat donker nodig om het licht te kunnen zien.
