Hallerbos is perhaps the most photographed forest

Hallerbos is perhaps the most photographed forest at this time of year. During the day on weekends, it’s best to stay away, it gets incredibly crowded. But early last Sunday morning, I was almost alone there.
I struggled with photographing at first because everything felt so flat. But then suddenly… the light switched on, quite literally. The sun started to play with the forest and it started living. And all at once, I began to see compositions everywhere.
I’m starting this series with the darkest photo, somewhat atypical for me. But sometimes you need a bit of darkness in order to see the light.

Het Hallerbos is in deze tijd van het jaar misschien wel het meest gefotografeerde bos. Overdag in het weekend dan kun je er beter wegblijven, dan is het zo druk. Maar afgelopen zondagochtend vroeg liep ik er bijna alleen.
Ik had moeite met het fotograferen omdat alles zo vlak was. Maar toen ineens…. ging het licht aan, letterlijk. De zon speelde met het bos en bracht het tot leven. En ineens zag ik overal composities. Ik start deze serie met de donkerste foto, een beetje a-typisch voor mij. Maar er is soms wat donker nodig om het licht te kunnen zien.

Fairytale landscape… spring brings color, softness, vitamin D, and a longing for summer. That’s what I wanted to capture in a photo (or actually three, since it’s a triple exposure)… and did I succeed?

Sprookjeslandschap… de lente geeft kleur, geeft zachtheid, geeft vitamine D en brengt het verlangen naar zomer. Nou en dat wilde ik vangen in een foto (of eigenlijk drie, want het is een drie dubbele belichting)… ennn is het gelukt?

A “local patch”, do you have one too? I do, actual

A “local patch”, do you have one too? I do, actually several. But this little paradise close to home is my go-to spot in spring. It has two different blossom trees, yellow flowers, bluebells, cuckoo flowers, and all kinds of other woodland plants. The little white bridge also adds a lovely touch to the scene.
Yesterday morning I went there to experiment with multiple exposure. So no, there’s nothing wrong with your eyes, the blur is intentional. Haha… the effect is even nicer and clearer in a larger format, but I still really wanted to share this one.
I love the colors of spring!

Een “local patch” heb jij er ook eentje? Ikke wel, meerdere eigenlijk. Maar dit kleine paradijsje vlakbij huis is mijn voorjaarsplekje. Er staan twee verschillende bloesembomen, gele bloemen, boshyacinten, pinksterbloemen en nog allerlei andere stinzenplanten. Het witte bruggetje voegt ook veel leuks toe in het beeld.
Gisterochtend was ik er even om te experimenteren met meervoudige belichting. Dus nee er is niets mis met je ogen, maar er is bewust onscherpte toegevoegd. Haha… in groot formaat is het effect mooier en duidelijker. Maar ik wilde deze toch erg graag posten.
Ik houd van de kleuren van de lente!

The last in the wood anemone series. Once again, two different approaches to the same flower. The first is a single shot, the second a multiple exposure, and once again I enjoy looking at both and don’t have a preference.
I’m curious if you feel differently.
I truly enjoyed photographing these beautiful flowers on Easter Monday. It was absolutely wonderful, the forest looked incredibly beautiful.

De laatste in de bosanemoon serie. Wederom twee verschillende benaderingen van eenzelfde bloem. De eerste is een enkele foto de tweede een meervoudige belichting en opnieuw vind ik ze beide fijn kijken en heb ik geen voorkeur.
Ben benieuwd of dat voor jullie anders is.
Ik heb enorm genoten van het fotograferen van deze prachtige bloemen op tweede paasdag. Het was echt heerlijk, het bos lag er zo ontzettend mooi bij.

I’m adding a touch of blue to the sea of pink in all my photos. Well… what can I say, I just love it. The middle one is pink again, because it’s a multiple exposure.
One more post tomorrow, and then it’s time to say goodbye to the wood anemones for a while.

Ik voeg even een beetje blauw toe aan de oase van roze in al mijn foto’s. Tja ik houd er nu eenmaal van. De middelste is wel weer roze omdat dit een meervoudige belichting is.
Morgen nog een post en dan is het weer even klaar met de bosanemoontjes.
